A JOURNEY TO JOY

Are you searching for joy?

It’s found in a lick of creamy chocolate, in a cube of crumbly cheddar, on a golden lake at sunset.

It’s found in the golden eyes of a watchful kelpie. It’s found in a lemon-coloured balloon coasting over a patchwork of paddocks and country lanes.

It’s found in a cold glass of amber ale, waiting on the bar in a country pub.

And you’ll also discover joy on the Canola Trail in the golden heartland of Wiradjuri Country, here in south-eastern Australia.

Take the byroads and country lanes of NSW’s Riverina region for a warm welcome in our country towns, vibrant villages and quaint crossroads, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne.

From Temora to Coolamon to Junee, follow the winding trail through glowing fields of gold as the canola crop turns its face to the spring sunshine. We’re full of adventures and bursting to tell you all our stories. Hello yellow joy is found here, on the Canola Trail.

FOLLOW THE HELLO YELLOW STORIES

Meet inspiring people that help make The Canola Trail so special.

1. Neil Druce, Junee Licorice Factory

Big ideas run in Neil’s family. His forward-thinking father converted the family’s Ardlethan wheat farm to organic in 1962 and years later, a young Neil had the idea of producing licorice from the farm’s wheat and spelt.

2. Andre and Keryl de Haan, Sweet Briar

When Andre and Keryl de Haan stumbled upon their Coolamon dream home the timing wasn’t quite right. Two years later, when ‘Sweet Briar’ came on the market the couple snapped it up, turning it into a delightful bed and breakfast.
