The Fed and Bed Cafe

Rising from the ashes of two historic fires, the building that now houses The Fed & Bed Temora has stood as a resilient and evolving landmark in the heart of Temora. Originally built in 1912 as The Federal Hotel following the destruction of the Grenfell Hotel in 1901, this solid brick structure has undergone many transformations over the decades, continuing to serve the community in new and meaningful ways. Though its ornate balcony and lacework balustrade were lost in the 1960s, and a second fire in 1995 marked the end of its life as a licensed hotel, the building has found fresh purpose. Today, it lives on as The Fed & Bed Temora — a unique blend of heritage charm and practical accommodation, paired with the warm welcome of a local café. On the ground floor, The Courtyard Café serves up Toby’s Estate Coffee and a delicious selection of homemade treats. Guests can dine in the inviting street-facing dining room or choose from a variety of intimate nooks, including The Courtyard and The Old Dining Room, each offering its own distinct atmosphere. Upstairs, the first floor offers 16 simple, clean guest rooms, accommodating up to 38 guests in a mix of Twin, Queen, Triple, and Family rooms. Shared bathroom amenities are available, and a complimentary continental breakfast is served daily in the guest dining room. Located in the centre of Temora’s main business precinct, The Fed & Bed is just a short stroll from the town’s shops, cafes, restaurants, and major attractions. Whether you’re visiting for business, an event, or to explore the rich heritage of the region, The Fed & Bed offers a comfortable and centrally located place to stay—steeped in history, and built for today.
